In Your Own Voice. We are interested in your own perspectives and experiences. You are invited to share them with us in one of the following ways:
Blog for Edument
Periodically, we will be choosing teachers to participate in an Edument Teacher Blog Series. This involves teachers creating blog entries either once per week for one month (for a total of 4 entries) or once every other week for two months (for a total of 4 to 5 entries). Each entry can be as short or as long as the designated teacher chooses. She or he will be expected to provide a simple summary about where they live and teach, how many students they are responsible for, what their area of study is, and what materials they use with their class, etc. The content of the blogs is mainly up to each teacher. The purpose of the Blog Series is to get a glimpse into the experiences of teachers around the globe. Write to us for further information or to volunteer yourself!
Essays
We are looking for essays on any theme regarding comparative and international education development. From time to time, we will be asking for essays regarding specific themes (e.g., cultural views on child-rearing, cross-cultural perspectives on literacy, research methods in education, text materials for schools in developing settings, cultural concepts of childhood, science education, etc.). Essays may be academically challenging or sweet and simple, innovative or personal. No matter how they are written, essays help us to question previous notions of the topic and enhance our scopes. Students in education are welcome to submit original unpublished or distributable essays (between 500-3,000 words long). Contact us to volunteer an essay.
Photography
We would be delighted if you shared photographs of your classroom or school with us for Edument’s Classrooms of the World Series. This is an opportunity to see what other places of learning look like and to demonstrate that schooling can take place under various conditions and circumstances. We occasionally call for of digital images related to certain subjects. Let us know if you would like to offer your images.
Interviews
Interviews give individuals a chance to observe another person’s experiences in a more intimate manner. We each have our own personal story and something to offer. Sharing your life with the world --what you’ve encountered as an educator, policy-maker, student, etc. the difficulties you’ve overcome, the advice you have for others, the challenges you foresee, etc., contributes to the knowledge of the international education development community. No matter who you are, if you have a story to tell -share it with us! Also share any potential features. The interview may be taped or conducted by e-mail.
Visual Art
We seek digital copies of illustrations, paintings, sketches, etc. for design purposes (e.g., use alongside articles). Sometimes we call for artwork for other occasions -(e.g., student drawings about their respective culture, student drawings about pollution or geography). If you have art you’d like to share or ideas for an art series feel free to get in touch with us.
Videos
We collect professional and amateur video and footage related to comparative and international education. Contact us if you’d like to offer your material.
Podcasts
Periodically we will be calling for individuals to participate in a segment of our Edument Podcast Series. These individuals should be knowledgeable about a specific topic related to comparative and international education development. Each segment should be from 2-10 minutes long. We also are in need of experienced podcast developers to assist us in the production of the series. To volunteer click here.
